Professional Development Alliance

LOUIS is pleased to announce that we have partnered with seven other library consortia from across the United States to expand the number of free, online professional development opportunities available to LOUIS member libraries. Through the Professional Development Alliance (PDA), ASERL, Atla, BLC, CARLI, LOUIS, NC LIVE, SCELC, and SEFLIN member libraries will have exclusive access to an additional 80+ online sessions per year. These sessions will span a number of topics relevant to library professionals and be led by experts across the country.

"The pandemic has served as an opportunity for LOUIS to improve our virtual connections with the Louisiana academic library community and there has been unprecedented participation in all of our educational offerings. With this new partnership, we will be able to expand the depth and breadth of our program with a new group of expert speakers," said Teri Gallaway, Executive Director and Associate Commissioner for LOUIS. Rob Ross, Executive Director of NCLIVE adds, “This is truly an exchange program, where each library consortium shares its local expertise with the rest of the alliance. By doing all of this online, we are able to eliminate cost and location barriers."
