Advancing Digital Opportunity: A Higher Education Toolkit

Acknowledgements

This toolkit was developed by the team of Louisiana educators selected to attend the American Association of Colleges & Universities’ inaugural Institute on Digital Equity. This seven-month virtual-learning institute was “designed to accelerate the work of teams seeking to enact ambitious strategies to pursue digital equity on their campus, in their community/region, and/or in their state,” according to the Institute on Digital Equity website.

The team from Louisiana is comprised of the following members:

Rebecca Kelley, team lead and primary author
Strategic Initiatives Program Manager
LOUIS: The Louisiana Library Network | Louisiana Board of Regents

Dr. Paula Atkins, contributing author
Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students
Louisiana State University Shreveport

Dr. Katie Dawson, contributing author
Assistant Vice President for Academic Innovation and Learning
University of Louisiana System

Dr. Dawn Kight, contributing author
Dean of Libraries
Southern University and A&M College

Bradley Narcisse, contributing author
Director of Adult Education
Nunez Community College

During the summer of 2024, LOUIS and the Board of Regents served as a host site for the American Connection Corps AmeriCorps program. John Rumph, recent graduate of Tulane University and current American Connection Corps member, also contributed to the development of this toolkit.

We would like to acknowledge Laurie Blandino, Associate Commissioner and Executive Director for LOUIS and the Louisiana Board of Regents, for her valuable input during the development of the toolkit. We also extend our gratitude to the higher education leaders across the state who contributed feedback to refine the final product.
