LUC: LOUIS Users Conference

Scholarships for LUC 2023 are now available for eligible LOUIS members:

To qualify for the First-time Attendee Scholarship, an applicant:

  • Must be currently employed at a LOUIS member library

To qualify for the Library Support Staff Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Must be currently employed at a LOUIS member library
  • Must demonstrate outstanding or ongoing contributions to their library and/or the consortium utilizing LOUIS resources.

To qualify for the First Time Presenter Scholarship, an applicant:

  • Must be currently employed at a LOUIS member library
  • Must demonstrate outstanding or ongoing contributions to their library and/or the consortium utilizing LOUIS resources.
  • Must have never presented at LUC previously, and are scheduled to present this year.

 

 


Application Instructions

To apply for the the above scholarships, an applicant:

  • Must complete the scholarship application form.
  • Must provide a brief statement in that application form. This approximately 150 word statement can be about any of the following:
    • how you believe attending LUC will help you serve your library and consortium,
    • contributions you have made to your library and/or the consortium,
    • what you hope to gain from attending and/or presenting at the conference,
    • and how cost might represent a hardship or barrier to attendance.
  • Must submit the application form by September 15th, 2023.

Selection

The LUC Awards committee will review each application and award the scholarship based upon merit or financial need.

Benefit

Each scholarship recipient may seek reimbursement for the following, with a maximum total benefit of $500.00. Recipients will only receive reimbursement for actual costs, based on receipts provided.

  • Registration Costs (waived in registration system)
  • Lodging 
  • Meal Per Diem (not including meals provided during the conference)
  • Mileage, gas, rental (if applicable)
  • Maximum Total Benefit: $500.00
