LOUIS is a consortium of public and private college and university libraries in the state of Louisiana. This partnership was formed in 1992 by the library deans and directors at these institutions, in order to create a cost-effective collaboration among the institutions for the procurement of library technology and resources. We are currently forty-eight members strong.
In addition to LOUIS's core work supporting the membership, LOUIS also engages in statewide and national initiatives related to digital inclusion, digital literacy, and affordable access to the internet.
We have a centralized support team of ten. These team members work with strategic contacts at member libraries and partnering organizations to support library technology and operations, negotiate procurement costs, and facilitate training, collaboration, and communication.
