LOUIS is a library consortium widely recognized as a model for cost-effective collaboration in higher education. We work to ensure equitable access to resources, services, and technologies by maximizing purchasing power and sharing expertise.

LOUIS is a consortium of public and private college and university libraries in the state of Louisiana. This partnership was formed in 1992 by the library deans and directors at these institutions, in order to create a cost-effective collaboration among the institutions for the procurement of library technology and resources. We are currently forty-seven members strong.

We have a centralized support team of nine. These team members work with strategic contacts at member libraries and partnering organizations to support library technology and operations, negotiate procurement costs, and facilitate training, collaboration, and communication.
